Simple ideas don’t enter complex minds and complex ideas don’t enter simple minds.

Is it not true?

The same is true about the reason why water expands instead of shrinking when it is cooled below 4°C.

The reason is so simple.

As we know — molecules of water are bipolar. 

As the temperature falls below 4°C, since the state of water changes from the liquid state to the solid state, the molecules of water draw some energy from the water itself and in this process — the molecules of water get more freedom.

So they get aligned in such a manner that the north polarity of the molecules faces the north polarity of the adjacent molecules. Likewise, the south polarity of the molecules faces the south polarity of the adjacent molecules due to which — they repel the neighboring molecules and spread out.

If they would have not spread out their density would have remained the same but not anymore. But as the water solidifies — they are not able to spread out anymore when the temperature of the water falls below 0°C.

DOES IT NOT EXPLAIN WHY WATER EXPANDS WHEN IT’S TEMPERATURE FALLS BELOW 4°C?
